Each space on Eolymp has its own database of users (space members). Anyone who wants to participate in your space must have an account in this database. These accounts help track user activity within the space. Accounts can be created automatically when someone signs in, or they can be manually set up by a space administrator.
Eolymp offers several options for customizing how member accounts are created, as well as how users sign in or sign up.
Eolymp lets you choose the identity provider that manages user logins for your space. An identity provider is a service responsible for handling login process. You can either use the Eolymp Identity Provider, which allows users to log in with their Eolymp accounts, or opt for the Space Identity Provider, which gives you full control over managing user credentials.
You can choose to allow anonymous users to access your space or require users to log in right away. Adjust your space’s visibility settings to either permit or restrict access for anonymous users.
Member accounts store user information and track their activity on the site. There are three types of information stored for each member:
Basic Information: This includes essential details needed to manage an account, send notifications, and handle logins. It consists of a username (login), password, profile picture, email address, name, country, and birthdate.
Additional Information: Extra information requested by the space administrator. These fields can be customized and may be visible or invisible to the user.
User Preferences: These are settings that each user can manage themselves. Preferences control options like website appearance, default language, and the types of notifications they want to receive.
Basic Information and User Preferences are core elements of Eolymp and have specific system functions. In contrast, Additional Information is fully customizable by the space administrator.
The Display Name is a space setting that controls how a user's name is displayed across the console and the space's website. You can choose to display the nickname, full name, or a custom field as the user's display name.
Eolymp also allows you to organize your members into groups. This makes it easier to filter participants for contests, manage students in courses, and quickly add participants.
