Change your plan or seats

Both the plan and the number of seats are changed from the same wizard at Settings → Billing, and both can be changed at any time. What differs is when the change takes effect: anything that costs more happens immediately and is charged immediately, anything that costs less waits for the end of the billing period.

You need Billing → Write. With only Billing → Read you can see the plan and the invoices but none of the buttons below.

Choose a plan

  1. Open Settings → Billing.

  2. Click Upgrade on the subscription card, or Subscribe if the space has no plan yet.

  3. Use the switch above the grid to see prices Monthly, Yearly or Usage based. Each card shows the plan's quota and its price per seat per month; a yearly price is divided out to a monthly figure so the cards compare directly.

  4. Click the plan you want. A card marked Unavailable has no variant for the recurrence you selected — switch the recurrence to see its price.

Your current plan is marked Current plan. What each plan's quota actually limits is in Quotas and limits.

Two cards in the grid are not plans. Academic is for schools, universities and charities — see Academic plan. Custom is for anything the published plans don't fit; both point you at hello@eolymp.com.

Set seats and confirm

Choosing a plan opens the subscription wizard with that plan and recurrence filled in.

  1. Check Plan and Billing period. The period offers only the recurrences that plan defines; on a free plan there is no period to choose and the field is hidden.

  2. Set Seats. The minimum is 10 and the maximum is 99999, and the help text tells you how many you have now. Free plans have no seat field.

  3. Read the cost preview underneath, which recalculates as you change the fields. Due right now is what you will be charged today; the line below it is the next recurring invoice, labelled with the date it starts. Either line expands into the concepts, prices, discounts and tax that make it up.

  4. Finish with whichever button applies:

    • Subscribe and pay — there is an amount due now and no subscription yet. You are taken to checkout.

    • Schedule change — the change carries no charge today. You are returned to the Billing tab.

    • Switch to free plan — the variant you chose costs nothing.

Work out the seats you need before the event rather than during it. Running out mid-contest means participants get an error when they sign in, and although you can add seats there and then, it is a payment step in the middle of a competition.

When a change takes effect

An existing paid subscription is updated in place rather than replaced.

Upgrades apply at once. Move to a more expensive plan, or add seats, and you pay the difference for the remainder of the current period; the new plan or seat count is live as soon as that payment goes through. Suppose you subscribed on 12 October for 10 seats at 3 EUR a seat. On 1 November you add 5 seats: you pay 15 EUR now, the space has 15 seats immediately, and from 12 November the recurring charge is 45 EUR.

Downgrades apply at the end of the period. Move to a cheaper plan, or reduce seats, and nothing changes today. You keep what you have until the period ends, and the new arrangement starts with the next invoice. The Billing tab shows the pending change as an alert — "Your plan change to plan with n seats will take effect on date" — with a Revert button that cancels it and restores the current plan, variant and seat count.

You can change the plan and the seats at the same time, and the system works out which parts happen now and which are scheduled. It is easier to reason about one change at a time.

Cancel or renew

Cancel plan stops the subscription renewing. Your space keeps working until the end of the current billing period; after that it has no seats, drops to zero quota and reads as Inactive. Nothing is deleted.

Once a cancellation is scheduled, Renew plan replaces Upgrade on the subscription card and undoes it.

Cancelling is not deleting. If you want the space and its data gone, that is Delete a space.

When the console can't do it

Some subscriptions have a structure the wizard cannot express — several items on one subscription, or adjustments made by hand. If yours is one of them, the console will not let you change it and you need to write to support. A custom subscription, arranged with us directly, works the same way: you can switch to a published plan whenever you like, but you cannot edit the custom one from here.

Ending a trial early has its own button and its own rules — see Trial period.
