Trial period

A new space can run free for 30 days so you can decide whether the platform suits you. During the trial you have the features of the plan you picked and five seats, you are not asked for payment details, and the sidebar carries an amber Trial badge with the date the trial ends.

The trial is offered while you create a space, at the point where you choose a plan — see Create a space.

What the trial gives you

  • 30 days, counted from the day the space was created. The period cannot be extended.

  • Five seats. This is the one restriction you will notice: only five members can sign in to the space's public site. Whatever seat count you set on the plan applies when you start paying, not before.

  • The plan's features. Everything the chosen plan includes is available, so you are evaluating the real thing rather than a cut-down version. What a plan includes is in Quotas and limits.

  • No payment details. You are not required to give a card to start.

A trial is for evaluation. Creating several trial spaces to evaluate the same thing — the same school, the same competition — is not what it is for; if 30 days is genuinely not enough, write to hello@eolymp.com rather than starting again.

Switching plans while you evaluate

You can change plan and seat count during the trial as often as you like, which is the point: try the plan you think you need and move if it turns out to be the wrong one. The seat count you set is stored and takes effect when the trial converts to a paid subscription; until then the space still has five.

Ending the trial early

Switch to paid on the subscription card ends the trial there and then, unlocking all the seats and features you have paid for. It is offered during a trial on a paid plan.

If you have no payment method on file, the dialog says so and sends you to the billing portal to add one first. Once a valid card is on file, the switch completes.

What happens when the 30 days are up

It depends entirely on whether we have a payment method for you:

  • No payment method — the subscription ends and the space is deactivated. Nothing is charged. The space shows the red Inactive badge, members cannot sign in, and quota-guarded actions fail. The data is still there and subscribing restores access.

  • A payment method on file — the space switches to the paid plan automatically and is charged for it.

So if you have added a card during the trial and decide not to continue, you have to say so explicitly. Cancel plan on the Billing tab schedules the cancellation for the end of the trial; afterwards the tab confirms the cancellation date, and the Next bill and Next billing date tiles show that no payment is planned.

If you never added a card, there is nothing to cancel — the trial lapses on its own.

After the trial

Subscribing later works exactly like any other subscription: choose a plan, set the seats, pay. See Change your plan or seats. Schools, universities and charities should look at Academic plan before paying full price.
