Certificates

A contest can issue a participation certificate to each of its participants. You switch certification on and fill in who the contest is organized by and who signs it; the certificates themselves are generated at the moment the contest is finalized, and each participant then finds theirs on the contest's page.

Because they are produced by finalizing, the configuration has to be right beforehand. Certificate settings are locked once the contest is finalized, and finalizing cannot be repeated.

You need permission to write contests.

Turn certificates on

  1. Open the contest and go to Settings.

  2. On the Other card, open Certificates.

  3. Switch certification on.

  4. Fill in the institution the contest is organized by. This is the name printed on the certificate, so write it the way it should appear in full.

  5. Add up to three signers, each with a name and a title.

  6. Close the dialog. The settings save as you change them.

What participants get

Nothing is issued while the contest is running, or when it merely reaches Complete. At finalization a certificate is generated for each participant and attached to their record, and the contest's landing page starts offering it to them.

Getting a name wrong is therefore expensive: the certificates carry the institution and signers as they stood at finalization, and the settings cannot be edited afterwards to reissue them. Check the spelling of every signer's name and title before you finalize.
